...Cleaning. (Apologies to David Mamet)
That appears to be my mantra. Or at least my constant activity. I'm always wiping, sweeping, washing, straightening and de-cluttering. Then why is my house still messy? It appears to take constant upkeep.
I don't consider myself a neat freak - far from it. As I've explained here before, my goal is always that my house is presentable enough for visitors at any time. Not every room or every corner, but the main areas. People are always stopping by, dropping off kids or picking Henry up. And I go to their homes constantly as well. I'm always impressed by how neat everyone else's place is. How do they manage it?
Maybe they don't have multiple pets and neighbor kids running through all day. Or maybe they have really helpful husbands. Hey, it's possible.
Does everyone feel this way? Am I obsessive? If so, why isn't the place cleaner?
